Why we are for Reservation?

Reservation is aimed at increasing the representation of major chunk of people in mainstream.
It is an initiative to bring quality in to the life of those (70% people in India are still in Rural areas).
The effort is conceptually correct in present scenario. In 50 years, we have not been able to bring literacy level to a respectable figure.
We have also not been able to bring quality to primary and middle education in government run schools.
Reservation would act as an encouragement to the underprivileged to strive for higher education, as they would know they have plenty of room at the top. This policy was successfully adopted in US to bring Black to mainstream.

Why we are against Reservations because (All the Truths and Myths):
· Increase brain drain, which is already in alarming state. ---- Migration Rate is 0.07 /1000 not alarming.
· Reduce opportunities for a big chunk of people, as the percentage of reserved seats will not be in sync with the percentage of population belonging to general class.---Incorrect OBC is 52% plus SC/ST are 24.4% hence general population is only 24%.
· It is not justifiable if it is not based on economic grounds. Total income certificate should be made compulsory with caste certificate.--- True something has to be done so that creamy layer does not get undue advantage.
· Increase hatred among peacefully coexisting people and encourage other sections in minorities to agitate for their own reservations. --- Supreme court has fixed the maximum reservation to 50% so 50% will always be available for general.
· So called general class will definitely be deprived of opportunities considering the fact that now most of the castes scheduled under OBC are socially and economically strong and at par with general class. While many unscheduled castes are suffering economic deprivation.--- True, this needs to be worked out.
· Discontented youth is not good for growing Nation and this would certainly intensify the discontentment.--- That’s serious problem
· There will be a definite loss in quality of professionals. This would affect all the sectors and lead India to destruction.--- Incorrect, Quality is a matter of standard of education provided by the institutes and if entry is not checked, exit is always checked.
Now if you think Reservation are destructive to the society, and don’t know what to do about it. Here is something every one of us can do:
Write directly to PM and President of India. What do you think is more compelling? One mail with ten thousand names or hundred mails with single message.
